December 2025

It’s Monday morning and I had planned to tick ‘pre-Christmas email update’ off the list before Christmas gets too busy. Yet as my mind is drawn to Don’t Walk In The Dark we have woken up to a Hanukkah massacre on Bondi Beach, Australia. With 15 killed and numbers rising it is a tragic proof that we live in increasing darkness.

The verse in Luke 8v15 starts with “now” and is a useful reminder of the urgency to get on with the job of raising up, not candles or Christmas lights, but the Word of God. It is Jesus Christ who we remember as given at Christmas, who is the light of the world – and the Word of God come in the flesh. The Word of God that will overcome the darkness. Darkness only exists for a lack of light. It is not just our own darkness we are overcoming in Luke 8 but rather light for the benefit of others. So that all who “come in may see the light”.

The voice of Hugh Latimer still echoes through British history and needs to rescue us from any short-term vision for this nation:

“Be of good courage, Master Ridley, and play the man; we shall this day light such a candle, by God's grace in England, as I trust shall never be put out”.

As these men raised up the gospel they grasped the long-term purposes of God at the cost of their own lives. There are many who are saying, “who will show us any good?” (Psalm 4v6) and are waiting for the Christians to proclaim the good news.

So, we wish you a very blessed Christmas and may the Lord give us all opportunities to raise up His word, the light given to mankind so that we Don’t Walk in the Dark.

These FREE poster downloads have been written for the Big Rock Cafe with specific locations in mind. You are welcome to use them in whatever capacity you see fit – if you would like them without the DWITD logo please get in touch.

The Don't walk in the Dark project is a call to the church to wake up and strengthen the things that remain. The darkness has come upon us and without the word of God we are without a light and hopeless walk in the dark blindly leading the blind. Goliath is about to appear and we are an army without a sword facing the biggest battle of our lives. Since 2022 we taken the challenge ourselves and have begun to produce resources to challenge the church to pick up their Bibles, read their Bibles and dare to live separately according to its truths.

If we can help you to raise up the word of God please get in touch. Whether to talk about your project or the support you need. We have run a Bible outreach cafe for 20 years with the Word of God boldly at its centre. Or if you need help to produce a particular verse or poster or you would like our stuff without the DWITD logo please do not hesitate to email us.

Keep in touch with us.
